The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality of production by enforcing GMP, validating processes, and providing documentation. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for all testing related to the quality of product and raw material (pH, brix, weights, label verification, moisture, etc.)
  • Product quality Inspection within the production environment.
  • Document results of inspections and guide on corrective actions.
  • Conduct Sensory Evaluation of the finished product.
  • Perform regular verification of weighing scales, thermometers, pH meters and refractometers, metal detectors, and maintenance of lab equipment and maintain records of the same.
  • Enforce and Monitor production/packaging areas/warehouse for GMP compliance.
  • Responsible for monitoring and recording temperature and humidity of all areas in the facility.
  • Responsible for monitoring and recording the cleaning chemical strength.
  • Perform all activities related to quality checks for raw material, packaging material, production, and packaging.
  • Responsible for monitoring sanitation through swabs and sampling rinse water, after line clearance /end of shift or day and after deep cleaning.
  • Maintain and complete all QC monitoring records as GDP.
  • Responsible for sampling, RM, PM, and FG as per the sampling SOP and release through Vicinity.
  • Responsible to Collect and maintain retain samples for Raw Materials, packaging material, and Finished Goods.
  • Verify the production pick list for each product before the start of production.
  • Responsible for controlling/holding OOS products, and taking necessary corrective actions with the shift supervisor and notify senior management.
  • Monitor housekeeping, cleaning and sanitation, personal hygiene, and pest control programs of the facility.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Sr. Quality Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A diploma/degree in Food Science or a related discipline from an accredited college/university is required.
  • HACCP and related food safety knowledge
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance/Control practices and procedures in a GMP manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Must be well organized and demonstrate effective time management skills.
  • High attention to detail

Must have proof of eligibility to work in Canada.
