The Program Engagement Facilitator enhances the experience and retention of Club members by overseeing youth drop-in programming, managing child behaviour, coordinating events, and collaborating with staff and the Program and Community Engagement Director. This role creates a positive, inclusive environment that encourages participation and builds a sense of community.
Key Position Objectives:
Youth Drop-In Program
- Planning, coordination, and daily operations of the youth drop-in program during scheduled hours.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment that encourages participation.
- Supervise drop-in activities, addressing behavioural concerns and supporting youth engagement.
- Build positive relationships with youth and promote social interaction.
- Maintain attendance records, monitor program effectiveness, and implement improvements.
Child Behaviour Management
- Monitor and promote positive behaviour during all programs and activities.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and guide staff in addressing challenges.
- Provide direct support to children with behavioural needs, ensuring their inclusion and success.
Event Coordination
- Plan, organize, and assist with special events for Club members and their families.
- Manage event logistics to ensure seamless execution and a positive participant experience.
- Promote events to maximize participation and foster community engagement.
Club Member Retention
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance member retention and engagement.
- Monitor attendance and participation, identifying and addressing trends to improve retention.
- Create engaging programs and activities that motivate and inspire youth.
Collaboration with Program and Community Engagement Director
- Coordinate daily operations to ensure smooth program transitions and continuity of service.
- Share updates and information about Club activities, staff, and members to maintain alignment.
- Assist with staff supervision, provide feedback, and identify professional development opportunities.
- Support joint event planning and execution, sharing responsibilities for logistics and promotions.
- Collaborate to plan and develop new programs that meet the needs and interests of youth.
Qualifications
- Experience working with staff and volunteers in a youth-focused environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Familiarity with BGC Prince County practices and procedures.
- Commitment to the Club’s mission, values, and goals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Working Conditions
This position is essential to the program team, ensuring all activities align with the Club’s mission and goals. The regular schedule is Monday to Friday from 11:00AM to 8:00 PM to oversee youth drop-in programming. Flexibility is required.
