Orwell Corner Historic Village is seeking two Historic Site Student Guide/Interpreters to assist with its summer programming from May 19 to Aug 30, 2025 (15 weeks). The duties of the Student Guides/Interpreters include:
- Identifying and implementing improvements in our programming
- Continuing and expanding our experiential tourism
- Delivering professional quality interpretation and programming
- Mentoring younger and less experienced summer staff
- Providing education, interpretation and public programming to visitors by recreating an accurate account of the history of daily life in a historic village
- Welcoming visitors to assigned building, leading tours, and explaining the historic significance of buildings and displays housed therein
- Assisting with special events and programs, often on the weekends and evenings
- Providing guided educational tours and programs for school-age children
- Assisting with office work or projects to complete when not giving tours
- Performing gardening as needed and completing basic cleaning of historic buildings
- Demonstrating various skills that were notable on PEI in the late 1800s
- Identifying new markets for the Site and collaborating on the development of new programming that fits the needs of underrepresented groups
- Promoting the village through increasing its social media presence
- Completing other duties as assigned
