Orwell Corner Historic Village is seeking two Historic Site Student Guide/Interpreters to assist with its summer programming from May 19 to Aug 30, 2025 (15 weeks). The duties of the Student Guides/Interpreters include:

  • Identifying and implementing improvements in our programming
  • Continuing and expanding our experiential tourism
  • Delivering professional quality interpretation and programming
  • Mentoring younger and less experienced summer staff
  • Providing education, interpretation and public programming to visitors by recreating an accurate account of the history of daily life in a historic village
  • Welcoming visitors to assigned building, leading tours, and explaining the historic significance of buildings and displays housed therein
  • Assisting with special events and programs, often on the weekends and evenings
  • Providing guided educational tours and programs for school-age children
  • Assisting with office work or projects to complete when not giving tours
  • Performing gardening as needed and completing basic cleaning of historic buildings
  • Demonstrating various skills that were notable on PEI in the late 1800s
  • Identifying new markets for the Site and collaborating on the development of new programming that fits the needs of underrepresented groups
  • Promoting the village through increasing its social media presence
  • Completing other duties as assigned
