Construction Labourer

As a Construction Labourer, you will play a crucial role in assisting with repairs, renovations, clean-up, and the general upkeep of residential units and property grounds. This hands-on role involves supporting skilled tradespeople, performing physical labour, managing site clean-up, and carrying out light demolition tasks to maintain properties in excellent condition. You will contribute to the daily operations that ensure all properties are well-maintained, safe, and ready for tenant occupancy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize materials and tools at work locations
• Load and transport construction materials, ensuring they are delivered to the appropriate work areas.
• Provide assistance to trades professionals, including carpenters, roofers, cement finishers, bricklayers, and glaziers, with daily tasks related to repairs, installations, and general property upkeep.
• Help dismantle structures by using hand tools like crowbars, and sort and organize reusable or discarded materials
• Remove rubble, debris, and leftover building materials using wheelbarrows, rakes, and shovels
• Help with the demolition of structures by using hand tools such as crowbars, and organize, clean, and stack salvaged materials for removal or reuse.
• Set up and remove temporary structures like scaffolding and barricades
• Direct traffic near job sites to ensure safety during active maintenance or construction work
• Mix and pour concrete as part of patching and repair tasks
• Perform basic exterior and interior maintenance, including light landscaping, snow removal, and site prep
• Operate hand and power tools (e.g., tampers, compressors, mixers) under supervision
• Follow instructions from site supervisors to complete assigned duties safely and efficiently
• Carry out additional tasks on properties and construction sites as directed

Qualifications:

• No prior experience is required, though familiarity with construction, general labour, or property maintenance is considered an asset.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions
• Basic knowledge of construction tools and job site safety
• Team-oriented attitude with the ability to take direction and work independently
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are an advantage
